Blackback butterflyfish


Blackback butterfly fish belongs to a group of butterfly fish. It is found in Red Sea, Japan, East Africa. Its average life span is 20 years. When it is frighted or at night it changes its colour, its back appears black with 2 white patches thus giving it the name blackback butterfly fish. These fishes have an oval shaped body, silvery with yellow fins and snout with diagonal stripes and with a black mark around the eyes. The blackback butterfly fish live in groups during the breeding season.
