Tiktaalik roseae

Tiktaalik roseae is the first species to keep its wet food on dry land over 375 million years ago. the researchers found an extraordinary fossilized animal skeleton with a crocodile like skull. a streamlined body and forelimbs that are a cross between feet and fins. The high quality of the fossils also allowed the researchers to examine the joint surfaces on many of the fin bones, concluding that the shoulder, elbow and wrist joints were capable of supporting the body-like limbed animals. The skeleton of Tiktaalik indicates that it could support its body under the force of gravity whether in very shallow water or on land. The scientific name of this species is tiktaalik roseae
