A hammerhead shark which has been kept without male sharks can reproduce asexually. The female shark own genetic material combined during the process of cell division that produced an egg. A cell called the secondary oocyte contains have half the female chromosomes normally become the egg, fused with another cell called the secondary polar body, which contains the identical genetic material.
